Start A Personal Prayer Group
Those of us who have been blessed with the Lord’s grace and fullness have an opportunity to really be a true blessing to the body of Christ.
There are many in our lives on the periphery that we truly love but barely interact with. Family members and friends that we speak to and hear from far to infrequently. If you have been imbued with the spirit and truly love the Lord, build a prayer group with 5 - 15 of those friends and family and share and pray together with them once or twice a week. (Your group can be as large as 150 without reservation and 400 with reservation.)
Invite them to share this faith walk with you. You and them coming together to lift up the Lord and to strengthen your bond as a community of believers.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:12
Brighten your light in Christ by taking this gift that God has given us and the gifts God has given you in particular and use it to strengthen and gird other Christians in your life and family.
It is a sure way to be blessed. It is true that God will not be mocked, you will reap what you sow. If you want to be blessed, be a blessing! Your efforts to build your own personal prayer group will certainly be a blessing to people who often feel like that they are on an island. Use this service not only as pray service for crisis, but a service used for daily spiritual renewal with Christians of like mind!
“And though a man might prevail against him who is alone, two will withstand him. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
We are not alone in the body and we are alone in this world. God loves us and is always there, but he also commands us to lift up one another and comfort one another. What better way than prayer? We are strong individually, but we are stronger as a group.
These tools have not largely been available to the general public for free. But now they are. Many people claim that technology has taken us farther apart. They state that we don’t know each other anymore and that technology has made us more distant.
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.” Matthew 5:13
However we have an opportunity right now to be a blessing to the body of Christ. Imagine the impact that we are going to have on peoples lives through prayer.
